What would be your next steps after buying at auction?

I am preparing to buy my first home at auction. What would be your first steps after buying your next investment at a sheriff sale? I am considering turning it into an Airbnb/short term rental.

@Ashlee Castro so much missing info!

Is it occupied?

If so, by previous owners or tenants, or?
- How will you get them to vacate?

What condition is it in?
When have you actually been inside the property?
- You may want to get a home inspector to tell you what needs to be addressed.

How will you get any needed repairs done?

While this is all going on, what research have you done to compare LTR and STR options?

How much estimating have you done on the costs to furnish it as an STR?

When did you verify the local municipality allows STR? Their LTR requirements if any?
