Hello!

My girlfriend and I are in the process of getting pre approved in Alabama (where we've never lived) and I feel like I'm stuck right now with nothing to do until we get the numbers back. My girlfriend said I should start looking at houses in the area, but I told her I don't know the price range. And I want to  start looking at specific neighborhoods in Huntsville but I'm not really sure what to look for.

We're trying to get a duplex if we can afford it. If not then we'll try to get a 4 bed room house and rent out the other rooms until we're ready to move out. I know there's some colleges on the area so I'm not opposed to renting it out to students. But I would really appreciate some help with what to look for when narrowing down locations! Thank you!

@Jaycee Greene That sounds like a great plan! Just checked out that property and it looks amazing. And thank you for mentioning the padsplit, I hadn’t thought about seeing if th city allows that. I just have to see what we get pre approved for. As of right now, we a lender told us we could get 100k but that was just after a convo on the phone
