My first open house lesson as a new agent (Didn't expect this...)

Just hosted my first open house this weekend as a brand new agent, and I learned something fast…

Day 1: I used a paper sign-in sheet.

The issue? half the handwriting was unreadable and honestly, it just felt outdated.

And in my opinion, one of the most important part of an open house isn’t just showing the home—it’s getting accurate contact info so you can actually follow up.

If you can’t read it or it’s incomplete… that opportunity is basically gone.

Day 2: I switched to a digital sign-in using my iPad (Curb Hero)… and instantly noticed a difference.

The first couple that walked in literally said,
"Oh wow, digital sign-in, fancy!"

They loved it.

That small change:

  • - Made the experience smoother for guests
  • - Gave me clean, accurate contact info
  • - Made me look way more professional (even as a new agent)

Lesson learned:
Sometimes it’s the simplest upgrades that make the biggest impression.

Curious—what’s something small you’ve changed that made a big difference?
