Lesson learned in the field

Shadowed a team member’s buyer inspection during a heavy rainy day and it turned into a great learning experience.

When the buyers first saw the house, the basement looked dry, and it was dark, and the conditions were totally different. During inspection, we noticed damp areas, water concerns, and a sump pump that wasn’t functioning properly.

The buyers ultimately decided to walk away and continue their search.

Big reminder that weather can reveal a lot about a property, especially basements, drainage, and water management. Glad I got to see that process firsthand early on.

What do you look for when walking a property with a client?
