To BP Black Investors: Appraisal Bias Risk

If you are black, there isn't widespread racial bias in home appraisals. But there is some. What does that mean, if you are black and if you're able? "Whitewash" your house before the appraiser arrives. For example, remove photos of all black family members, remove all black art, books and CDs/albums, if you have them. Don't forget any black photos on your refrigerator or screensaver. Appraisers often arrive up to 30 minutes early to take exterior photos. Find a white friend or relative to show the house for you while you occupy yourself away from the home for 90 minutes. We actually don't know the frequency of anti-black appraisal bias. We know that it's more than zero. Since tens of thousands of dollars are riding on it, make the effort to keep that value in your home. We have done this with six investment properties and we will never know if it was a waste of time or if we dodged a bias bullet.

REALLY ???  any appraisers caught doing this in todays day and age will lose their license you really think they are going to risk that just because the owner is Black.

U have been down this racial bias road a number of times on BP  cant we just put it to rest. 

U really think when an appraiser goes into a neighborhood that is predominantly black and then see's a white washed house they are not going to think what is up here. 

There is no question racial and religious bias happened in the past we have all moved on from it why dont you ?
