I’m Starting to Understand Why Consistency Matters in Networking

I’m Starting to See Why Consistency Matters More Than Networking More

One thing I’m slowly realizing about real estate networking is that you don’t build strong relationships by only showing up when you need something.

It’s easy to message someone when you have a deal and ask, “Are you buying this?”

But what happens when there’s no deal?

That’s where consistency starts to matter.

Real estate is a relationship-driven business, and trust usually takes time to build. People want to know who they’re dealing with, how you communicate, and whether you’re someone who actually follows through.

You don’t have to constantly be asking people for opportunities.

Sometimes it’s simply:

- Contributing something useful to a discussion

- Checking in with someone you’ve connected with

- Sharing something you learned

- Following up respectfully

- Being present in the community

- Actually doing what you said you would do

Over time, those small interactions can build a reputation.

And I think that’s one of the biggest advantages of staying active on BiggerPockets. You may not know where a relationship will lead today, but consistently contributing and getting to know people can create opportunities months or even years later.

The goal isn’t to network with everyone.

It’s to become someone people remember, trust, and feel comfortable doing business with.

For the experienced investors here: what networking habit has created the greatest opportunities in your investing journey?
