One thing I’m learning about communication in real estate
The more I learn about disposition, the more I’m realizing that communication can be just as important as the numbers behind a deal.
A deal can have a strong purchase price, good potential, and attractive numbers, but if communication is slow, unclear, or inconsistent, it can create unnecessary friction and make a buyer question the opportunity.
I think a few simple things can make a big difference:
• Giving timely updates, even when there isn’t much new to report
• Making sure the information being shared is accurate
• Setting realistic expectations instead of overpromising
• Being responsive when buyers have questions
• Communicating changes as soon as they happen
• Following through on commitments
To me, good communication isn’t just about keeping everyone informed. It also helps build confidence.
On the other hand, poor communication can damage a relationship surprisingly quickly. A buyer might overlook certain challenges in a deal, but being left wondering what is happening or receiving inconsistent information can make them hesitate to work with you again.
I’m still learning how much of a role this plays in successful transactions, so I’d love to hear from people with more experience:
What is one communication habit you’ve developed that has noticeably improved your real estate business or transactions?
