Got burned by a real estate mentor
My first flip was a mess. Not the market, not bad luck. The mentor I paid had never actually done a deal in this market. Just a good pitch and a highlight reel of testimonials he picked himself.
After that I went looking for a place to check a mentor before paying, for any real estate niche, not just flipping. Something neutral, not run by the mentor, not full of affiliate links. Couldn't find one. So I built it.
Quick disclosure since I have to be upfront about this: I'm the founder. It's called AllPros, a review site for real estate courses and coaches across the board, wholesaling, rentals, multifamily, all of it. Real reviews from actual students, no paid placements, no affiliate deals with the people we review. Started with house flipping specifically because that's where I got burned personally, and it felt like the right place to prove the model before expanding to the rest of the industry.
Not here to pitch. Genuinely curious if others ran into the same wall trying to vet a mentor before paying. What actually made you trust a review or a recommendation, if anything did?
