Maximum travel time to rental property.
When searching for rental property to purchase managed by yourself, what is the maximum travel time to consider before it becomes not worth it. Thanks for the experiences.

For your first property, I suggest no more than 30 minutes away. You might go up to an hour later on.
Has a lot to do with the property, its condition and price range-rent level. Low end rentals has a tenant market that may require more hands on issues, you may want to show up at a police call of a window being broken, that means getting over there in short order. A $1500 rental will be in a different world, it might be an hour or more away, your tenant more responsible and able to address the small stuff.
The property and market will determined the amount of attention you'll need to give a property and tenant, the more attention required the closer it should be. :)
