How long does it take to record an assignment at the county?

Hello everyone!

I am waiting to receive the documents recorded from the county since last August. I am getting impatient because the broker told me it would take between 3-4 weeks for the documents get recorded so I can see my percent of ownership in the property.

Now, we are in October and I contacted again with the broker. There notary didn't include the acknowledgment letter with the assignment and they sent it again to the county.

Is it normal that it takes so long?

Thank you @Russell Brazil for your quick response! I think the summer must be the cause of the delay.

@Stuart Birdsong, I have invested in a project like hard money lender so I have a a percentage.

@Mercedes Cantero How long it takes can vary greatly.  It can happen quickly if it is a low volume time of the year and your envelope happens to end up on the top of someones pile. during high volume times of the year, coupled with something as simple as someone at the county clerks office going on vacation at the wrong time and it can take many months.  It really does not have any effect in the real world though as to when it gets recorded.
