I was talking about real estate with a friend this weekend, and the subject of Adverse Possession came up. (In a nutshell, if you are possessing a portion of someone else'e property, after a certain amount of time, you can be awarded that portion of their property. Some restrictions apply...)

He asked, "If the property that was being adversely possessed was sold before the end of the possession period, would that start the clock over, or would it continue?"

Like everything in real estate, it probably depends on the state. But does anyone have any idea about this? I couldn't find it with a cursory Google search...
