Online payment methods that are best?

Question

What online payment methods does anyone recommend.  I am going to have a property 2.5 hrs away, 1 hr away, and I'll be living in other property. So I am still going to try and manage these so online payments are a must.

Hey @Charles Kiser, I really like Cozy.com and their entire management and payment software. Super simple, free for your first property, and my tenants seem to really like it. The only downside is it takes 3-5 business days for the payment to get deposited in my bank account, but there are no fees to do everything online, so it's worth it to me.

@Al Pat, not sure, you'll have to go to Cozy.com and look at their pricing to see what fits your needs. The User-Interface is wonderful though, absolutely love it.

As for Zelle, not sure what that is. The Cash app is great, but there no "buyer" or "seller" protection through the cash app. I like to idea of having my transactions protected.

It's really nothing more than what is available at the sites inclusive of a URL.  Not a tutorial as much expectation setting.   Class-a single family rentals... so likely a different tenant base.

Would you be willing to share instructions?  I have found in area I am in people may not be as internet savy as rest of world.

I use Cozy for one unit.  Free version.  Never had an issue outside the prior mentioned 3-5 business days.  I've really not taken advantage of the other services.  Note Cozy allows for tenants to pay using a credit card.

For my other units I've used Chase/Zelle QuickPay.  No delay in receiving payments.

FWIW -- I've added auto/electronic payment as the preferred method within my leases with some general instruction as to how to set it up.

I have the same question as Charles and I am going to check out Cozy now. Are there online payment methods to avoid to make sure I don't settle on those in case I don't like Cozy?

We've used Cozy for several years now without any incident. We used to use Erentpayment as well but cancelled that option after the issues they had last year.

Interesting. I have a cozy account setup but was a but concerned about using them since I didn't really know much about them.  But it seems like everyone really likes them and that makes me feel alot better.
