How much does everone ay for bookeeping?

What does everyone pay for book keeping? I am looking at a CPA that does quick books managing, depreciating all my properties, updating balance sheet etc. and he is charging me $150 per month. Is this normal? Thanks!

CPA overcharges for bookkeeping services since that's not what they should be doing. My firm starts at $49/month so there's your comparison.

You should just use the CPA at year-end for tax purposes. Bookkeeping is a tedious task but should be done right from the start.

I agree with Basit and I would say most CPA firm or CPA's don't do the bookkeeping they have staff or bookkeepers who do the actual work and the CPA just reviews it.

Saying from my experience in my firm.

But it's hard to say if you fee is too high or low without know how many transactions per month and type of properties.

But I would not say your rate is very high. Feel free to fill us in.

@Caleb ClayIt is hard to say whether that fee is a lot or a great price.What industry is your business in? Buy and hold is a easy to understand industry. However, if you are in the flipping business where properties are considered inventory, the bookkeeping is more complicated and should be reflected in price.How many transaction do you have a month? An entity with more transactions per month should be more costlier than an entity with few transactions per month.Also posts suggesting that CPA's should not be doing bookkeeping is true but also misleading. Many CPA firms have in house bookkeepers who can be doing the bookkeeping work.

My CPA won't do bookkeeping, he will give referrals. Like @Simon W says CPA's are too expensive for that and they can make more money doing other stuff. I pay 50 dollars an hour for bookkeeping.
