Any success story using RealtyTrac?

Question

Hi, anybody out there who succeeded in locating a deal with RealtyTrac?  I looked at about a dozen of deals posted on the website last month, which were either pre-foreclosure or ROE, only to find out that they have already been through the entire foreclosure procedure and put on the market at market price, and some already been sold.  So their description of the deals being "active" foreclosure property was not quite accurate...  is it just my bad luck??

I am looking in DC area.  Thanks for sending me the link to testimonials, but I will believe it when they introduce themselves to me in person  :wink:  sorry to be a cynic.
You should certainly check the accuracy of your database in my area.  I just checked back your website and noticed that the listing has not changed since six weeks ago when I was on free trial.  And I know for the fact that many of the properties listed there are already on the market listed by real agents.

Thanks for both comments above. I will check with our data acquisitions team in Connecticut and the DC area and get back to you with more detailed information.

I have talked to many of the testimonials subjects in person and researched their stories to make sure what they claim is true, so I'm quite confident in the veracity of these stories. Of course, I understand your perspective, though. I'll see what I can do in terms of having one of them contact you if you want.

My first thought on the Connecticut data is that one trustee handles the vast majority of foreclosures, which is not uncommon. And it could be it's easier to obtain the information on that trustee's foreclosures because they do so many and are more efficient at disseminating the information.

not to jump the thread but i have a question Rt, it seems in my state ct all the preforeclosures all seem to be listed with the same trustees when the trustee is listed. one that are'nt listed are often last minute.
