Mailing your work network?

I'm reading through The Millionaire Real Estate Investor and have really been enjoying it so far. Just finishing the section on the network model and ran across something I'm curious about. Keller suggests that maintaining your network has three touches.

1. Call them every month.

2. Mail them something of interest every month.

3. And, for your inner circle, meet them every month.

Number two is an interesting one. Obviously sharing relevant information is a great way to touch your network. But sending it through the mail? Is this outdated advice from 2005 before social media and email was so prevalent? Or is it a timeless way to really set yourself apart and make an impact on your work network?

What do you guys think? How do you stay connected to your network? Anyone actually mailing as Keller suggests?

Hey @Ben Graham I think I'd do something physical in the mail if they are a high value contact to you, it just makes it seem like you actually care (make it a non spammy mass mailer).

If it's just to your network, a thoughtful individualized email should do in my opinion.

I personally email my network or give them a call occasionally
