WHICH quickbooks / investing tutorial
I've been managing my own collection of single family homes using a spreadsheet in years past.
In the future, my plan is to continue doing that, and also to, using an LLC(s) (which I point out because the above mentioned properties are not (yet) part of the LLC), purchase other properties that I will actually have a paid property manager handle for me.
In light of those use cases...
I've recently purchased the accounting version of QB'13 (I figure there's no such thing as overkill, right?) which includes all of the various premier/pro/contractor, etc versions of quickbooks, and I am wanting to use the best possible solution to manage "the books" going forward.
So, I've come across the following things. There was another similar thread on this topic a month or so back, but I wanted to formulate this question a bit differently..
I've found:
http://quickbooksforinvestors.com/ - A site run by Mike Butler that seems to have lots of videos about using quickbooks, but I haven't figured out how step by step and versatile the instruction is.. Payment is by subscription.. $8 a month or $50 a year.. or there is this 'investorbook pro' thing that is $900.
http://nancyneville.homestead.com/QuickBooks2012.html - Nancy Neville's book that she's had going for quite some time. Seems to be relatively popular and would likely hit the needed points. $99
http://landlordaccounting.com/ - Jonathan Wolter's ebook. He's posted on a few threads here about his book. It also seems reasonable, and is priced the same, at $99.
Anyone out there have experience with more than one of these? Based on my use case (some I manage/some I don't/won't, etc) which would be recommended?
I have the software; I just need a good way to get everything organized for REI. Thanks for any guidance!
Kirby
