Duplex property in Kansas City?

Question

Is buying a duplex in Kansas City a good option?

So far I have primarily focused on acquiring single family in the Kansas City, MO region. I am looking to venture out into buying my first duplex and wondering if Kansas City is the right market for duplexes.

Duplex’s or even 4 plex are a great option in Kansas City.  If the numbers already work for you for a single-family, they will definitely work for a two or four unit. ￼

If you're already buying in the market and can find a duplex for the right price, there's no reason to not move on it.  Just expect less inventory vs SFRs.

Most common MF type in KC, I’m a fan of KC duplexes.

Yes it is a great option. I own both sfh and duplexes and larger. I wish I would not have purchased any sfh....if that tells you anything! KC has a great selection of duplex.
