Anyone Investing In San Antonio?

Hi All, 
Had a look around and couldn't find too much on the subject. Is anyone currently investing the San Antonio market, I would love to hear about it. I currently only have property in Austin and further afield, nothing in SA but am considering heavily on getting into it.

As a resident, agent, and investor in San Antonio, I can say that it is an excellent market for investing.  The increasing population, 5 military bases, over 16 colleges & universities, 2 major medical centers, proximity to Eagle Ford, and the fact that it's first major city north of the Mexican border all help make this a healthy market for investors.

- Properties can still be acquired with 30%+ equity, 
- Low acquisitions prices allow smaller/new investors to get their feet wet,
- The rental market is excellent, low vacancy rates, and high rents
- There is a phenomenal owner-finance market
- Abundance of housing stock ranging from the 1910' to present day.
- Little competition unlike other Texas markets.

Good stuff Marco Santarelli.  He hits the nail on the head with his info.  A great investment city has so much more to do with the economics of the city than it does with housing and price points.  However, when they all add up together, the city is probably an excellent bet for investors.

San Antonio is a good market for investors and one of my top 5 favorite markets.  It has one of the fastest growing job markets with an unemployment rate of only 6% (Feb. 2013).

It has a well educated workforce and was #2 on the Forbes list of recession-proof cities recently.  It is a market with good growth, and good appreciation potential.

I can just see all the San Antonio investors cussing their computers right now wishing this topic would go away!

It is a logical city for investors who are already betting on Texas as Houston, Dallas and Austin get most of the attention.  I think it is a great city and is on my future plan, but not today.  My attention is still focused on the DFW metroplex (mostly the FW side of that equation) and Memphis.

Good luck though, my research said it was a solid city for investment.

I'm also from Austin and I have some preoperty in Austin but I am looking into San Antonio as well.  I'm still in the research phase but it looks like there are flip opportunities right off of the MLS and some good cash flowing properties.  I'll be heading down there every couple of weekends from now on to get a feel for the city, as I don't know it too well yet.
