Where to start in finding a private money lender?

Hi, I am fairly new to Real Estate  Investing and to post here on BP. I have a newly formed contracting company in the Baltimore MD metro area that I would like to primarily devote to home improvement for the sake of real estate investing than just being a traditional handyman. Does anyone have any advice as to where to find investors or where I can find like minded people in my area? Thanks for any help that can be offered

As a direct private lender, I do very little marketing as the majority of my borrowers come through word of mouth from other investors.

I have gone through this site a little, but I thought I would get a quicker answer by posting a question. I will be going back to the forums though, because I know there is a lot of good information in there. Thanks again to both.

There are several real estate groups in the Baltimore area. Search for REIA (Real estate investors association) and for Meetup groups.

You can also find local members here on BP  by setting up an alert for your area Keyword alert system tutorial

Welcome to BP!

Find a good Realtor who sells rehabs or properties in the price range you deal in. They usually know who can put a deal together. Some finance deals themselves and partner.

Read up on finding lenders. It's been covered, as you can search at the courthouse for deeds of trust by lenders and locate the individuals, trusts or small companies. Good luck. :)
