FHA 203k Renovation Delays

Hey! First time poster here and new investor, appreciating any advice in this new and scary world.

My project, a conversion of a single family unit to a multi-family unit, is delayed by about 5 months. 2 months of the delay is due to my mortgage company.

My original mortgage company transferred the mortgage to a different mortgage company early on, and did not give me the required 15/30 day notice. I was ignored by the first mortgage company when requesting the initial payments for the architect/engineer and permits for a month, and then ignored by the second mortgage company for another month. Is there anything that I can do to request a freeze on two months of the mortgage payments which are a lot for me? I asked the mortgage company and they keep transferring me from one person to another and ultimately told me the mortgage terms are what they are. It doesn’t feel right.
