Has anyone done business with this private lender?

Hello everyone, I am new to Bigger Pockets, so I hope that I am posting in the correct category.

I am curious to know if anyone has ever done business with a private lender named Dave Laca. He had contacted me regarding an ad that I posted.  He does have a Linkedin profile so I assumed he was legitimate, however I now suspect he is running a scam, trying to get more money out of me.  If anyone has any information about him, I would greatly appreciate any feedback.

a true 'private' lender is someone you know - your dentist, your uncle, someone you work with, someone in a business mastermind with you.

so if you need to 'vet' a private lender... they're not a private lender.  i do not know anything about this person you are referencing but i never understand these types of questions.

First, never send a lender money unless it's to be paid for appraisal or admin charges and if you looking for a good lender I could refer you to our hedge fund which offers you a hard money loan with no experience and only must be a homeowner. 1. Never send money directly to anyone. Use your escrow company

2. If you sent him money it’s gone. Don’t send more

3. As mentioned a private lenders someone you know. Not some random person.

Thank you everyone, I appreciate all of your feedback to my question. It is unfortunate for me that I have come across this Dave Laca person and from your comments and advice, I should not have done business with this person to begin with. Regrettably, a hard lesson learned that I will not forget.

Just about anyone can make a LinkedIn account. Look for reviews, licenses, fundings etc..

I am glad that I came across this.  I haven't sent him any money but also have had conversations with him.  My gut said don't trust him but he answered all my questions. Though sometimes they didn't make sense.  Now I am going to for sure trust my gut on this one
