Lenders for down payment assistance programs?

Question

Does anyone have a lender recommendation for down payment assistance/grant programs for purchasing a primary in Los Angeles county? I'm a real esatate agent who has a client looking to get pre-approved.

We have access to a lot of different programs, from CalHFA (including Dream for All which is opening up this week), to various lender sponsored programs that have more flexibility with credit scores, property types, etc.  I'm happy to help get your client pre-approved for whichever fits best with their goals and finances.

Hi Bobby,

There are definitely solid down payment assistance options in LA County right now. CalHFA is usually the first option that we look into. They have MyHome and other programs that can be layered with FHA or conventional depending on the borrower’s profile.

There are also other city-specific programs within LA County that offer grants or deferred seconds, though they can be income-restricted and sometimes take longer to process.

We work with a lot of DPA lenders and are very familiar with structuring these properly so they actually close smoothly.
