What will the search for financing do to credit?

Hi-

My Wife and I have spent A LOT of time to rebuild our credit from mistakes that we made in our early twenties. What will the search for financing do to our credit? I do not really want to see my scores start to plummet from hard pulls. I know that I am going to have to look at a few possibilities since we do not have quite enough to put down a sizable down payment but our scores are both range from 780-810 so we are hoping that at least our credit can help us out.
