How to find a hard money lender’s

I have horrible credit and I’m a Canadian trying to invest in America how would I find a hard money lender that I could work with?￼

Just as a quick aside...knowing what I know now in terms of networking and lenders I would never use a lender I didn't have a referral on.

You can start at the top of this page. Select the "Network" tab and you'll find lots of lenders.

Also the Scotsmans Guide is a good place to find asset based lenders as well.

You'll want to focus on asset based lenders as they use the property to underwrite the loan. Your personal credit is less important.

@Christopher Cotton I think you misread my post. I said I wouldn't use a lender I didn't have a referral on. I wouldn't just click through the hard money lenders tab above and just select one at random. There are plenty of people here and through meetups who can give you an idea of who to use and why.

You can check online on Facebook and craigslists. I suggest not working with a broker if not owner occupied and working directly with a lender.

@Odie Ayaga, enlighten me. What were your experiences that have made you not recommend a hard money lender because I thought this was the way to go when I started my flipping stages?

Would love to hear from someone that’s done it cause I do have my skepticism
