Mortgage loan without 2 years of income

Juan Lamar
Posted

What's going on BP,

I'm graduating college this spring and will be looking to move to the DFW area to teach. I do not have any debt and have a decent amount of savings. I would like to house-hack with a duplex, maybe even renting out rooms in the unit I occupy. I am worried that banks wont lend to me because I do not have the 2 years of income. I am also a veteran so the VA home loan is in place.

Any advice is welcomed!

Reach out to @Andrew Postell. He is a local lender and VA. If it can be done, he can do it. Be aware, Dallas Fort Worth does not have as many duplexes as other parts of the country. And the ones in decent areas are even more rare.
