Using Heloc Financing

I am looking to expand a portfolio of properties rather quickly. I recently came across using a HELOC to finance the next/another property. I have been reading articles but can't seem to find the info I need to make a decision. Does anyone have any helpful articles, opinions or previous experiences? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
