Equity compensation package for employee

Hi BP community! I'm typically a bystander in awe with how successful this community is and am humbled to be a part of it! I have been fortunate enough that my business has grown tremendously in a short amount of time. I plan to move full time into the business in very short order, but also need to bring on another full time employee. I'm hoping to connect with some individuals who have structured equity comp in their business. A good friend of mine has been helping me part time and seems eager for what I'm trying to accomplish. I want to present to him a compensation package that aligns his commitment long term. Given my portfolio is solely under me within multiple LLCs, I am not exactly sure how to efficiently structure the business to be able to allocate equity in the portfolio. I appreciate any connection or guidance through this hurdle, and as always thank you all for the support!
