California: Has anyone used 1 800 accountant?

Hello All,

Has anyone used 1 800 accountant for their REI company taxes? I was sold on their online expense tracking and unlimited accountant advice. Now I have read some bad reviews of them online and am questioning my decision. Also, they are based in New York and I'm in California. Feeling a bit stupid.

Has anyone used 1 800 accountant for their business? I would love to hear what your experience was.  Thank you in advance!!

Alternately, does anyone have a recommendation for a real estate savvy accountant in California, preferably Northern California?

    @Heather Thompson

    When you are in real estate, you need specialized, tailored advice. You likely won't get that via 1-800 Accountant or big box stores like H&R Block.

    You need a CPA/accountant that is real estate savvy to really help your business grow. @Rob Beland offers great advice on finding a local accountant. I'd also add to contact the state CPA board and ask for referrals.

    But don't be afraid of using someone that isn't local to you. For instance, I'm in D.C. and have several CA clients. Just remember, you are looking for someone who has real estate tax/accounting experience and produces high quality work above all else.
