Real Estate LLC Options

Hi BP Community,

I am new to BP and real estate investing in general. So far the information I have found through this network has been incredible! As I am starting to build my portfolio I thought it would be best to form an LLC. I understand there are other options such as S-Corps, C-Corps and umbrella insurances. I will be working in the Florida market and from what I gather Florida has favorable laws geared toward LLCs and Trusts. Obviously, my goal is to mitigate risk and leverage tax benefits, etc.

I would love to hear from others about which route they have pursued.

Thanks!

Welcome @Blaine Dawson! As a new investor I would caution against DIYing creating an LLC. Doing it wrong can cost you a lot of money and I personally look at reaching out and paying a good attorney (you can ask @Jessica Zolotorofe) or a good accountant (@Brandon Hall) as a cost of doing business. Seeking the advice and counsel of professionals can save you a lot of trouble down the road!
