Non-Compete

Hello all,

I am new to this site and I am new to real estate. I need some serious advice on what to do in this scenario.

The dilemma is facing signing a non-compete to partner with a someone to specifically wholesale properties. We would split the business 50/50. We would both split the costs, and the profits. He has been in real estate for a couple years, although he still has a day job working towards doing real estate full time. He has had exposure and success within the wholesaling market.

I am all on board to partner with him for various reasons, but the non compete states I can not wholesale within the same city/market as the business for 18 months after leaving the business, if I choose to leave.

Thoughts on what to do in this scenario?

I am meeting with a lawyer later this week.
