Right of First Refusal (Perpetual)

I understand the basics of a recorded right of first refusal.  My question is, can you have it be a "perpetual" right?  As in, the right occurs every time the property is about to change hands.  I picture this more like a deed restriction than a recorded document that would be cleaned up on title prior to the first transfer after recording the right of first refusal.

Anyone have any experience with something like this?
