Home Owner refusing to pay $24,000 final remodel bill

I finished a remodel for a lady in texas.  At the end of the job she refused to pay the final bill stating, "i am disputing the bill so I do not have to pay all of this".  She then began to claim items that were not part of the contract that she wanted done (ie. repaint her interior, fix her floors, and repaint an addition).  I paid to have that done and did not charge for it.  She still refuses to pay.  this is a significant loss to my startup business.  Now that the year has ended, can I provide her with a 1099-MISC as earned income.

Apparently you didn’t get these changes in writing, and you don’t know your own state lien laws and procedures.
