Recommendation for tax prep specializing in house-hacking?

Hi All,

This is a long shot, but I thought I would reach out to the community and see if there are any tax-preparers on here who are very familiar with taxes and house-hacking. If you know of anyone, please send me their info. Like I said, I’ve read the blogs, studied up on the issues, but I would like someone to help me file to make sure I do it right, at least for 2019. @Marissa StallerThe uniqueness to house-hacking is that you purchased a property that is both an investment property and a personal residence.It is your responsibility to properly allocate the payments into 3 buckets.100% deductiblePartially deductiblenon-deductible

I.E. Property taxes that you pay for the whole house includes for the portion that you live in and a portion that is used by the tenants. As such, the payment of real estate taxes needs to be allocated to personal deduction(Schedule A) and business deduction(Schedule E).

Are you open to working with an accountant remotely?

I would prioritize finding an accountant who specializes in real estate taxation over one that is local.There are 20+ accountants on this message board who specialize in real estate taxation. Feel free to reach out to a couple and use the one you connect with the most.

@Marissa Staller Not a long shot at all - you're certainly in the right place. There are around 20+ of us to professionals here on the forums who specialize in real estate (including house hacking).
