Is it possible to create an LLC in CA and remain anonymous?

Hi all,

A friend of mine created an LLC in CA as he lives in CA. He owns bunch of properties in CA as well as one other state. He showed me how easy it is for people to find his and his wife's name and even address from the Secretary of the State website.

I am thinking of forming an LLC (possibly in CA) too. I was wondering if it's possible to remain anonymous by forming an LLC in CA. I don't want to create complicated structures with Wyoming and Nevada Anonymous LLCs.

Not our specialty, because we are accountants, and the question is a legal one. That said, many investors accomplish this anonymity by combining LLCs with land trusts. Ask a CA-licensed attorney.
