Is investing like watching a carousel?

I heard this analogy about investing the other day and thought it was spot on. How about you?

I like the analogy although I think it should be a bit more active. You can't just wait and watch. You need to be actively looking, especially in a market like this.

Thanks for mentioning that, Andrew.  You're right, a great investor is going to be up on the carousel walking around hunting for an empty sit not just sitting down there waiting and watching.

That's a good way to expand the quote. You gotta be that weird guy meandering about the carousel looking for the empty seat.
