Looking for a mentor

I am new to investing and currently looking for my first deal out of state but wanted to see if I could find someone to either work for or find a mentor for me in the Scottsdale/Phoenix, AZ area. Does anyone have either connections or know where I could go to find other real estate investors, primarily fix and flippers, in the area?

I am happy to either work for this person or just act as an extra set of hands when needed. My goal is to get exposure and learn, so I am open to opportunities.

Hey Maria, I would recommend starting by connecting with local real estate investment groups and networking events in the Scottsdale/Phoenix area. You can find these on platforms like Meetup, BiggerPockets, or even social media groups dedicated to real estate. I would also suggest reaching out directly to fix-and-flip investors in the area, offering to help with their projects, as many investors are always looking for extra hands. Another great option is to attend local auctions and property wholesaler events; those are fantastic opportunities to meet experienced investors.
