Looking for a mentor

Posted

I’m Jeremiah, 17 years old (birthday coming up quick—turning 18 soon aka in 3 months!), from Tulsa, Oklahoma. I’m brand new to real estate investing—I haven’t done a ton of deep homework yet (no books finished, no deals analyzed), but I’ve been listening to a few BiggerPockets podcasts, heard about strategies like using Other People’s Money (OPM), house hacking, rentals, or even small flips, and I’m hooked. Tulsa seems like a solid spot with good cashflow potential, affordable properties, and growth from jobs in oil/tech/aviation.
Right now, I’m using the time before 18 to soak up as much as possible so I can hit the ground running once I can sign contracts. My goal is to learn fast, find a mentor or partners who might guide me (or even invest in deals with me via profit splits), and eventually build something big.
I’m willing to hustle—research markets, help with analysis, shadow deals, whatever brings value—in exchange for advice, pointers, or connections.
Questions to get started:
•  What are the absolute best free/cheap resources for a total beginner right now? (Podcasts episodes, books, YouTube channels?)
•  Any Tulsa-specific tips for newbies (local meetups, investor-friendly areas, or things to watch in 2026 market)?
•  How did you start when you knew basically nothing? What was your first step?
•  Anyone open to mentoring a young motivated person or sharing OPM stories/ideas for beginners?
Thanks for any help, replies, or DMs—I’m ready to learn and put in the effort. Excited to be here
