New York Section 8: Offer High, Lock It Up, Negotiate Later
New York Section 8: Offer High, Lock It Up, Negotiate Later
In a competitive New York Section 8 deal, the biggest risk might not be overpaying—it might be losing the property entirely. Sometimes the better strategy is to come in strong, get the property under contract, complete your inspection, and then negotiate based on what you actually find. Once a seller starts mentally counting that closing money, you may have more leverage than you did before the contract was signed. Real estate investing isn’t always about getting the lowest price upfront. It’s about controlling the deal and making the numbers work.
