Need a Mentor in the DFW area

I am in the process of trying to buy my first real estate property besides my own home. If there anyone who could at least assist me in a few questions I would appreciate it. 

Example. To get financing for the deal should I pull equity for the deal or sale my house and use the profit for the deal?
