Deposit return an letter

 If I need to send a certified letter with a lot of paperwrk,to a tenant who moved out  an wont give new adress ,can they use a lawyer to receive these documents .It confirms the $ an invoice of cost deducted from security deposit   ..Tenant wont give adress ..but will give  a lawyers .

@Al Smith Typically, most state laws dictate that you mail to the last known address, which is usually the rental property itself. The post office will forward it. You can't force her to give you her forwarding address. I would take it to the PO, get it stamped and take a photo of you handing it off to the postal employee and get a receipt, as a record. Make sure you make copies of everything that the letter contains. I would also email the documents to the tenant because they will read them even if they won't acknowledge it. Make sure you are doing this within the time frame your state dictates with regard to deposit turnaround. However, I would guess that with only a $500 deposit, the chances that she will try to take you to court are slim to none.
