Time to Evict: North Carolina

Getting ready to start eviction proceedings on a tenant. Looks like it will cost me about $160 just to get this started. Not that I'm incredibly hopeful to get the back-due rent from the tenant in the first place, but from a legal standpoint, is this something the courts can require the tenant to repay as well?

I think you will find landlord tenant court to be quite fascinating. Even if your case is boring (hopefully), the other cases can be pure entertainment. I don't go to court very often, but it's always interesting. Next time my eight year old has a day off of school, I plan to take her and watch some cases so she can see the legal system from the inside. She's very logical and I think it would be a good experience for her.
