Best areas in IL for rental properties

Hello!

My husband and I are new to Illinois and looking to buy rental properties.

Does anyone have areas that they suggest we look at to find deals? The numbers just need to work so we are cash flow positive.

Here is what we are OK with:

  • Light reno work
  • B/C class neighborhoods
  • Anywhere in the state

Are you sure you don't want to invest OOS? Like many northern states, IL is considered tenant friendly and has a larger possibility of causing you problems down the road (esp as a new investor).

Don't take my word for it, do some research. My input is worth what you paid for it.... :-)
