Safety of Baseboard Heating?

Question

I am getting ready to rent out a house that has all baseboard heating. I am concerned that the tenants could put furniture too close to it and cause a fire. They have young kids too, so I'm worried they could stick their fingers in it and burn themselves. I will probably add something to the lease that they have to sign off on in regards to acknowledging the safety of the baseboard heaters. What are some safety concerns that I need to know about here? First time dealing with the baseboard heaters. Thanks!

While not necessary to say anything imo, I would advise them to watch that clothes particularly those having metal snaps, zippers etc be kept clear of the heaters as these can be heated to a temperature that can cause 2nd degrees burns if they contact bare skin.

In addition most electric heaters will give a distance that should be kept clear.  An electric wall heater I have states to keep area directly in front of the heater clear for 3 feet.  That is no problem because of the location and small size (12"x12").

Is this electric or hot water baseboard ?

None really.  Hot water baseboard heat runs at a lower temperature, usually around 160 degrees Fahrenheit.   If it were steam it'd be more of an issue.  I would only explain to them how the heat works and let them know for it to heat the unit most efficiently that they should try not to block it as it will increase their costs (provided they're paying for heat).
