Laminate flooring labor cost (Atlanta)

Hi,

I'm in Atlanta and I have 550 sq ft of kitchen/dining room that needs the vinyl/laminate flooring replaced. This is the simple "Pergo" style stuff. What are people paying to have this installed?

I have a gentleman who did a few of my friends's homes quote me $1.30 per sq ft for labor and I pick out which flooring I want.

Does this sound OK?

In Atlanta, I paid $4.50/sy for rolled vinyl flooring (mid-grade quality) and about $4.50/sy for installation. Supplier is in Dalton, so add $75 to have it delivered or plan to drive up to pick it up.

So, about $9/sy (or $1 per square foot), which includes labor and materials.
