How Often Should I Do an Inpection

I just purchased my first rental property and am working to get tenants in there.  I was wondering how often I should preform inspections of the property and what I should be looking for.  This is a single- family property.

Twice a year should suffice. Change smoke detector batteries, new thermostat battery, replace furnace filter, look under all sinks, drain water heater once every year, look in the attic. Be aware of possible extra tenants or pets.....
