Another Atlanta rehab question.

I have a 3/2.5 bi-level rental that I was quoted: $2,000 to install 600 sq ft of laminate flooring as well as fix all the little nail holes and cracks in walls and paint entire house. Is this a good deal?

There is not THAT much prep work that needs to be done to the walls. But to make them "perfect" then they will need attention. I have cheapy paint at $150 for 10 gallons.

The flooring is actually on clearance from a local place. Was $2.00 per sq ft but now is 60 cents per sq ft. Got some leftover padding at 20 cents per sq ft.

It's pretty much been broken down to me as:

$1,000 floors (materials, demo and labor)

$1,000 paint (or subtract $300 if I supply my own paint)

I'm OK with the floors but $700 for labor only to paint 1,500 sq ft (flooring area) has me thinking about this more. I know the guy does great work as I've seen his work in 4 separate houses for 3 different folks I know.

Suggestions?
