Allowing tenant's pest control tech to inspect the attic
We have good tenants in our SFH, and they're about a week away from giving their 60-day renewal/ non-renewal notice. Per our lease, pest control is the tenant's responsibility.
The tenants just let me know they hired a pest control company to treat for spiders, mosquitoes, and roaches (the property is on a wooded lot). The tech apparently did an inspection and noticed a small gap between the back French doors where insects could be getting in (we'll address that). They also asked if it would be okay for the tech to inspect the attic during the next visit.
The lease states that tenants are not allowed attic access, but their request seems reasonable to me. That said, I’m wondering if I might be overlooking any potential issues — liability, safety, etc. How would you handle this?
