Existing tenants, tension already
I recently purchased a 2 acre property with a mobile home on it. The current tenants have been there since 2017 and paying well below market value for rent in our area. They are currently on a month-month agreement. After completing our purchase I sent them a letter introducing us as the new property owners/landlord. I sent them an updated month-month lease as well as a rental price increase letter. All by the book legally here in PA. They are not happy with the increase and all the sudden are claiming that most of the appliances don't work and that no repairs have been done so raising the rent is right. They also mentioned they can't afford the new rate. I gave them the required 30 days notice prior to the increase taking effect as well as the 1st two months staying at the new rate. It's very possible that they will not sign my lease and vacate the property. Thoughts? Should I have done anything different? Thanks in advance.
