LA Eviction Process

Hi there! So I have nightmare tenants and have had late payment issues all year long. Their year lease ended in September and rolled into month to month and since then they just completely stopped paying rent. I have tried communicating with them and working it out with the tenants but they became hostile, cuss me out, and I haven't received any rent money. My issue was being extremely understanding with the late payments and now they are completely taking advantage of the situation. We filed a 3 day notice to pay or quit and then filed an unlawful detainer for an eviction. It has been almost 4 weeks since we filed in court and we have yet to hear back from the court to continue serving and processing the eviction and I am curious to hear other people's experience with filing an eviction in LA County. This has been an extremely stressful situation as a first time landlord and I am trying to best prepare myself for what the next couple months may look like for me financially, mentally, and emotionally. Is it usual for the courts to take this long to process an unlawful detainer? My tenant has made it clear she will also be hiring a lawyer once she got served the 3 day notice and threatened me and told me not to come onto my own property. She has cussed me out multiple times, told me she will "f*** me over", simply because of me asking her to pay rent and has just been a complete nightmare. I am working with someone who was referred to me that works alongside an attorney to process evictions but just wanted to hear other people's experiences.
