Interconnected smoke and CO alarms

Mike Whitman
Posted

As part of a recent city inspection on a duplex we bought, we found out the city fire code is for the smoke and CO alarms to be interconnected (including hardwired in the basement).  Anyone have a particular brand they like to use?  I've been looking at First Alert hardwired and wireless to replace our current detectors.

In my experience, buy mid-range, not for brand name. Most of the mid-range products last 10year and in my municipality that is Maximum. check with the local ordinance for timeframe but, I believe the 10 years is nation wide.
